EtherCAT-Slave (EN)
HardwareEnd device in EtherCAT networks for data processing
Definition
EtherCAT-Slaves are end devices in EtherCAT networks that process data 'On-the-Fly' as they traverse the physical segment. These devices read and/or modify the master's datagrams without needing their own Ethernet address. Slaves can be sensors, actuators, or other control devices and are typically connected in a ring or line topology to increase network robustness.
