Definition
A guarantee is a voluntary assurance by the seller about the properties of a product that goes beyond legal warranty obligations. It can be freely designed by the seller in terms of time and content, but must be clearly and unambiguously defined. Unlike warranty, a guarantee can also be provided for used items.
