Definition

LAN (Local Area Network) is a computer network limited to a specific geographic area such as an office, building, or campus. LANs enable communication and resource sharing between connected devices with high transmission rates. In this module, LAN typically refers to your internal network where your servers, workstations, and other network components are connected. Proper configuration and management of your LAN is the foundation of a functioning IT infrastructure.
