Definition

SMART-KPIs are key performance indicators that meet the criteria of Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. These criteria ensure that KPIs are clearly defined and actually implementable. By applying the SMART criteria, meaningful KPIs are developed that enable data-based decisions and support targeted management.
