Anleitung

Prepare your phone for disassembly
Vorsicht: Caution Allow your phone's battery to drain below 25%, as a charged lithium-ion battery is a potential safety hazard.

Unplug any cables from your phone.

Hold the power and either volume buttons and slide to power off your phone.
Tape over any cracks
If your screen or back glass is badly cracked, lay overlapping strips of packing tape over the glass to protect yourself and make disassembly easier.

Hinweis: Note Make sure there's a smooth area near the bottom edge that's big enough for a suction cup to stick to.
Mark your opening picks
Hinweis: Note If inserted too far, an opening pick can damage your device. Follow this step to mark your pick and prevent damage.

Measure 3 mm from the tip and mark the opening pick with a permanent marker.

Hinweis: Note You can also mark the other corners of the pick with different measurements.

Hinweis: Note Alternatively, <a href="https://guide-images.cdn.ifixit.com/igi/pQGATIGUbViSB4gB.full" target="_blank">tape a coin to a pick</a> 3 mm from the tip.
Remove the pentalobe screws
Use a P2 pentalobe driver to remove the two 7.2 mm-long screws on either side of the charging port.
Heat the bottom edge
Use a hair dryer or heat gun to heat the bottom edge of the back glass until it's hot to the touch.

Vorsicht: Caution Be careful not to heat the phone hotter than this—the battery is susceptible to heat damage.
Insert an opening pick
Apply a suction handle to the bottom edge of the back glass.

Pull up on the handle with a strong, steady force to create a gap between the back glass and the frame.

Insert the tip of an opening pick into the gap.

Vorsicht: Caution As you slice the adhesive securing the back glass in the next steps, be careful of the wireless charging cable near the volume buttons.
Separate the bottom edge adhesive
Vorsicht: Caution Don't insert your opening pick deeper than 5 mm along the bottom edge.

Slide your pick back and forth along the bottom edge to separate the adhesive.

Leave your pick inserted in the bottom left corner to prevent the adhesive from re-sealing.
Heat the left edge
Heat the left edge of the back glass until it's hot to the touch.
Separate the left edge adhesive
Vorsicht: Caution Don't insert your pick deeper than 5 mm along the left edge.

Insert a second opening pick to the left of the first one.

Slide this pick to the top left corner of the back glass to separate the left edge adhesive.

Leave this pick inserted to prevent the adhesive from resealing.
Heat the top edge
Heat the top edge of the back glass until it's hot to the touch.
Separate the top edge adhesive
Vorsicht: Caution Don't insert your pick deeper than 5 mm along the top edge.

Insert a third opening pick in the top left corner of the back glass.

Slide your pick to the top right corner to separate the top edge adhesive.

Hinweis: Note If the top edge of the back glass doesn't separate, the <a href="https://guide-images.cdn.ifixit.com/igi/oSyessveJDwhT4ZN.huge" target="_blank">top clips</a> may be stuck. Use the flat end of a spudger to press the clips inward until they release.
Separate the top right corner adhesive
Vorsicht: Caution Don't slide your pick past the volume up button to avoid slicing the wireless charging cable.

Rotate your pick around the top right corner of the back glass.

Slide your pick to the volume up button.

Leave this pick in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.
Heat the right edge
Heat the right edge of the back glass until it's hot to the touch.
Separate the right edge adhesive
Vorsicht: Caution Don't slide your pick past the volume down button to avoid slicing the wireless charging cable.

Insert a fourth opening pick at the bottom edge of the back glass.

Rotate your pick around the bottom right corner of the back glass.

Slide your pick to the volume down button.
Swing open the back glass
Gently swing open the back glass over the right edge of the phone.

Hinweis: Note If the back glass feels stuck, go back around the perimeter to check for missed sections of adhesive or stuck clips.

Rest the back glass against a box or similar object so it doesn't strain the cable.
Remove the wireless charging connector cover
Use a tri-point Y000 driver to remove the 1.0 mm‑long screw securing the wireless charging connector cover.

Use tweezers to slide the cover out of its slot on the logic board and remove it.
Disconnect the wireless charging coil
Use the tip of an opening pick to pry up and disconnect the wireless charging coil press connector.

Hinweis: Note To reconnect a <a href="https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Recognizing+&+Disconnecting+Cable+Connectors/25629#s70308" target="_blank">press connector</a>, align it over its socket and gently press down on one side until it clicks into place, then press down on the other side.
Remove the back glass
Remove the back glass.
Disassembly complete
Congratulations on completing disassembly! The remaining steps show how to reassemble the iPhone.

Hinweis: Note Depending on your iPhone model, some reassembly photos may have minor visual discrepancies. The procedure will be correct.
Remove the back glass adhesive
Hinweis: Note The back glass adhesive is very sticky may take a while to remove.

Use the point of a spudger to ball up a larger section of adhesive and remove it from the frame.

Hinweis: Note If the adhesive is stubborn, warm it up with a <a href="https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/How+to+Use+a+Hair+Dryer+to+Soften+Adhesive/157348" target="_blank">hair dryer</a> or <a href="https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/How+to+Use+a+Heat+Gun+to+Soften+Adhesive/151116" target="_blank">heat gun</a> to soften it.

Repeat this process until all the larger strips of adhesive are removed.
Step 22
Apply a few drops of adhesive remover or high-concentration (90% or higher) isopropyl alcohol to a cotton swab or coffee filter.

Wipe the residual adhesive off the frame.
Step 23
Apply a few drops of adhesive remover or high-concentration (90% or higher) isopropyl alcohol to a clean lint‑free cloth or coffee filter and wipe all residual adhesive off the frame to prep the surface for the new adhesive.
Orient the replacement adhesive
Without peeling any liners, lay the adhesive sheet over the frame to determine its orientation.

Hinweis: Note Use features such as the camera cutout and notches along the edges to visualize how the adhesive will lay on the frame.
Apply the replacement adhesive
Grab the large tab in the bottom corner of the adhesive sheet and begin peeling off the liner that exposes the side that sticks to the frame. Don't remove it all the way.

Vorsicht: Caution The exposed adhesive is very sticky. Don't let it touch anything until you're ready to apply it to the frame.

Hinweis: Note If your adhesive has multiple liners, peel the liner that exposes the side that sticks to the frame.
Step 26
Vorsicht: Caution Once the adhesive is set into place, you can't reposition it—you'll have to remove it and start over with new adhesive.

While holding the back liner out of the way, carefully align the exposed edge of the adhesive to the bottom edge of the iPhone's frame.

When the adhesive is aligned, set it down along the bottom edge.
Step 27
Use the flat end of a spudger to press the adhesive into place along the bottom edge.
Step 28
Continue peeling the back liner off of the adhesive and setting the adhesive into place along the edges of the iPhone's frame.

Hinweis: Note If you correctly aligned the lower edge of the adhesive, the side and top edges will fall perfectly into place. If the adhesive is misaligned, remove it and start over with new adhesive.

Hinweis: Note If you don't have another one handy, it's okay to put your iPhone back together without adhesive, but keep in mind that it won't be water resistant until you install new adhesive.
Press the adhesive into place
Use the flat end of a spudger to press the adhesive into place all around the iPhone.
Remove the top liner
Lift the pull tab in the top‑right corner of the frame to peel off the top liner and remove it.

Hinweis: Note Your pull tab may be in a different location. Make sure you're pulling the full-size top liner, not the thin liners along the edges.
Adhesive information
Once the top liner is removed, there should be three narrow liners on top of the adhesive with pull tabs near the bottom edge.

Hinweis: Note Your pull tabs may be in different positions.

If you don't see these pull tabs, you may have accidentally removed the thin liners in the previous step. Be careful not to touch anything to the exposed adhesive.
Align the back glass
Set the back glass on the right edge of the iPhone frame and use one hand to hold it in place.
Connect the back glass
Use the flat end of a spudger or your finger to connect the back glass press connector.
Install the wireless charging connector cover
Use tweezers to slide the tab on the wireless charging connector cover into its slot on the board and set it into place.

Use a tri-point Y000 driver to install the 1.0 mm‑long screw securing the wireless charging connector cover.
Remove the final adhesive liners
Hold the back glass over the phone so you can access the narrow liner covering the adhesive on the right edge of the frame.

Use tweezers to remove the narrow liner on the right edge.
Step 36
Remove the remaining narrow liners to fully expose the back glass adhesive.
Install the back glass
Align the back glass over the frame and press it into place.
Step 38
Firmly press along the edges of the phone to compress the adhesive and engage the clips.
Install the pentalobe screws
Use a P2 pentalobe screwdriver to install the two 7 mm‑long screws on either side of the charging port.
Heat the back glass
To help the adhesive bond, apply heat to the edges of the back glass using a hair dryer or heat gun until it's hot to the touch.
Press the back glass
Hinweis: Note To evenly compress the iPhone and strengthen the bond of the screen to the frame, you need to account for the camera bump.

If you have the iPhone's original box, take the lid and place it on a flat surface.

If you don't have the original box, skip this step for an alternate method.

Place the iPhone screen-side-up in the lid of the box with the camera bump in its recess.

Find something close to the size of the iPhone, but taller than the sides of the box. Stack it on top of the iPhone, followed by a few heavy objects.

Leave the objects in place for at least thirty minutes, ideally overnight.
Step 42
Hinweis: Note If you don't have the iPhone's original box, follow the these two steps for another method to evenly compress the screen.

Place the iPhone screen-side-down on a soft, flat surface.

Apply tape to the back glass to protect its finish.

Place three layers of coins or similarly thick objects on the tape along the edges of the back glass.

Evenly distribute the coins and make sure they are at least as thick as the camera bump.
Step 43
Stack multiple books or other heavy objects on your iPhone.

Vorsicht: Caution The coins may leave an impression on the bottom object, so don't use anything valuable.

Leave the objects in place for at least thirty minutes, ideally overnight.
